# Sammy.js, CouchDB, and the new web architecture
Welcome to the new world. HTTP Databases and JSON Storage. The simple act of making the database and the browser more powerful on either end has destroyed the need for the middle tier. In the new architecture, Our database (JSON/HTTP based: CouchDB, Cloudkit) serves data as JSON directly to the browser. On the browser side we create a much smaller/tighter ?controller? layer with JavaScript. This handles the directing of the user to the right place, the displaying of the data to the user, and the conversion of user interaction into state + data. This middle piece is jQuery + Sammy.js. | 22.02.2010 14:02 Uhr | javascript couchdb web
# sammy.js
Working heavily with Sinatra, I realized that the simple route definitions and structure it provided could be a great fit with jQuery/JavaScript. So as a little side project, we decided to try making our own aggregator based on that idea. It's a work in progress, certainly, but we like what we've come up with so far. In fact, we're inclined to think it's even easier than reading a blog, because of a nifty feature we implemented. We call it Humanized History, and we're hoping that you don't even notice what it is, because that's sort of its point: to let you spend more time reading, and less time thinking about navigation. | 20.07.2006 09:06 Uhr | web

# Wicket - Home ← http://www.langreiter.com/space/2006-07-08-wicke%5Bd%7Ct%5D
Wicket is a Java web application framework that takes simplicity, separation of concerns and ease of development to a whole new level. Wicket pages can be mocked up, previewed and later revised using standard WYSIWYG HTML design tools. Dynamic content processing and form handling is all handled in Java code using a first-class component model backed by POJO data beans that can easily be persisted using your favourite technology. | 10.07.2006 20:13 Uhr | web java

# A List Apart: Articles: In Search of the Holy Grail ← http://www.innoq.com/blog/st/2006/02/15/xhtmlcssbased_threecolumn_layout.html
Three columns. One fixed-width sidebar for your navigation, another for, say, your Google Ads or your Flickr photos?and, as in a fancy truffle, a liquid center for the real substance. Its wide applicability in this golden age of blogging, along with its considerable difficulty, is what has earned the layout the title of Holy Grail. | 15.02.2006 13:48 Uhr | web css
