# InfoQ: The Seven Fallacies of Business Process Execution
After 8+ years of intense research, the software industry and its customers are hitting a wall. The vision defined by BPM startups in the dotcom era has not materialized yet: we are still far from having the ability to use the business process models designed by business analysts to create complete executable solutions (even with minimal interventions from developers). | 05.12.2007 15:41 Uhr | soa bpmn bpel

# ONJava.com -- The Process Virtual Machine
This article will show how both business analysts and developers can benefit from workflow, Business Process Management (BPM), and orchestration. We'll explain the core essence of workflow engines in simple terms, and how this can be leveraged in a Java environment. | 11.05.2007 16:13 Uhr | workflow bpm java

# InfoQ: Implementation of business rules and business processes in SOA
In this article we will outline commonalities and differences between business rules and business processes and present some guidelines on positioning business rules in SOA implementation and appropriate usage of each technology. | 12.03.2007 20:20 Uhr | bpm soa

# springmodules: Chapter 6. jBPM 3.1.x
jBPM module offers integration between the Spring and jBPM allowing for reuse of Spring's Hibernate support along with the IoC container. The module allows jBPM's underlying Hibernate sessionFactory to be configured through Spring and jBPM actions to access Spring's context. | 01.12.2006 19:44 Uhr | jbpm spring java

# InfoQ: BPMN in Eclipse SOA Tools Platform
With the donation of Intalio's BPMN modeling editor by Intalio, the Eclipse SOA Tools Platform now has a visual editor for creating process diagrams. It seems quite likely that BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation), which is gaining more and more traction as a standard notation for business process modeling, is destined to become the standard notation for processes in the SOA world. | 30.11.2006 10:15 Uhr | bpmn eclipse

# Introduction to UML 2 Activity Diagrams
UML 2 activity diagrams are typically used for business process modeling, for modeling the logic captured by a single use case or usage scenario, or for modeling the detailed logic of a business rule. | 15.11.2006 09:34 Uhr | bpm

# IT|Redux » Why BPMN Matters
Today, I will try to explain why BPMN matters. Until now, there has been no standard notation for designing business processes. ARIS ? the Brainchild of Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer ? is a great notation, but it?s a very propriatery one that is not supported by any other tool than IDS Scheer ARIS. UML Activity Diagrams are cute, but business analysts somehow cannot use them. Flowcharts is what they?d rather go for, but these tend to be limited to the modeling of single processes, which does not accomodate the requirements of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Something better was needed, and this is why BPMI.org developed BPMN a couple of years ago. | 14.11.2006 20:12 Uhr | bpmn bpel

# IT|Redux » On BPMN
Over the past couple of years, the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) has established itself as the de-facto standard for process modeling. Nevertheless, an impedance mismatch exists between BPMN and BPEL, one of its target execution languages. What follows is the view of Assaf Arkin, Intalio CTO and co-author of the BPML and BPEL specifications, on this critical subject. | 14.11.2006 20:07 Uhr | bpmn
# SOA Tools Platform Project
The mission of the SOA Tools Platform (STP) project is to build frameworks and exemplary extensible tools that enable the design, configuration, assembly, deployment, monitoring, and management of software designed around a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The project is guided by the values of transparency, extensibility, vendor neutrality, community collaboration, agile development, and standards-based innovation. STP leverages the Service Component Architecture specification (SCA) as its model. | 14.11.2006 20:01 Uhr | soa java bpmn
