# Eastwood Chart Servlet : Dave Gilbert's Weblog
Last week Google announced the Google Chart API which caused a flurry of excitement in some places. It's a relatively simple method for putting chart images into a web page, and I thought that it would be nice if JFreeChart supported the same kind of mechanism. So for the last few days, I've been working on a Java servlet (henceforth known as the Eastwood Chart Servlet) that emulates the Google Chart API. Think of it as an independent, open source implementation of Google's charting API. Version 1.0.0 is released today, under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public Licence version 3: | 14.12.2007 22:46 Uhr | java chart google jfreechart

# Dark Roasted Blend: Retro-Future: To The Stars!
This is the start of a new series, collection of the most inspiring & hard-to-find retro-futuristic graphics. We will try to stay away from the well-known American pulp & book cover illustrations and instead will focus on the artwork from rather unlikely sources: Soviet & Eastern Bloc "popular tech & science" magazines, German, Italian, British fantastic illustrations and promotional literature - all from the Golden Age of Retro-Future (from 1930s to 1970s). | 27.11.2007 16:52 Uhr | art

# Riesenmaschine - Powerpoint Karaoke
| 01.02.2006 20:37 Uhr | art fun work

# The Scanner Photography Project
Several years ago, I built my first homemade digital camera. The idea was simple - I would take an ordinary flatbed scanner, and use it in place of photo paper with a large format camera.
My first scanner camera was made from lots of duct tape, a cardboard box, and the cheapest flatbed scanner that I could find. I expected this to be a quick little art project, one that would take a week or two at the most. But when I got my first homemade digital camera to work, I noticed that some wonderful things were beginning to happen. | 19.01.2006 08:38 Uhr | art photo

# PARK(ing)
We identified a site in an area of downtown San Francisco that is underserved by public outdoor space and is in an ideal, sunny location between the hours of noon and 2 p.m. There we installed a small, temporary public park that provided nature, seating, and shade. | 20.12.2005 10:05 Uhr | art

# KHRONOS PROJECTOR - Alvaro Cassinelli ← http://www.boingboing.net/
The goal of the Khronos Projector is to go beyond these forms of exclusive temporal control, by giving the user an entirely new dimension to play with: by touching the projection screen, the user is able to send parts of the image forward or backwards in time. By actually touching a deformable projection screen, shaking it or curling it, separate "islands of time" as well as "temporal waves" are created within the visible frame. This is done by interactively reshaping a two-dimensional spatio-temporal surface that "cuts" the spatio-temporal volume of data generated by a movie. | 05.05.2005 19:46 Uhr | art
